Jalapeño Popper Pizza

All the flavors of a cheesy jalapeño popper is so much better in pizza form, with added bacon of course!

Imagine a jalapeño popper in the form of a pizza.

Yes. It’s as epic as it sounds.

And better than a traditional jalapeño popper in my opinion.

All you need is some pizza dough (homemade or store-bought – no judgment with the store-bought route of course!), room temperature cream cheese, pepppers, cheese and bacon. DUH.

You can’t have a jalapeño popper anything without bacon.

Jalapeño Popper Pizza

Yield: 8 servings

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

All the flavors of a cheesy jalapeño popper is so much better in pizza form, with added bacon of course!

  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 jalapeño chiles, sliced
  • 1 Thai red chili pepper, sliced
  • 1 shallot, sliced
  • 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 (13.8-ounce can) refrigerated classic pizza crust
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Lightly coat a baking sheet or pizza pan with olive oil.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add bacon and cook until brown and crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, jalapeño, red chili pepper and shallot; set aside.
  4. Working on a surface that has been sprinkled with cornmeal, roll out the pizza into a 12-inch-diameter round. Transfer to prepared baking sheet or pizza pan.
  5. Spread cream cheese evenly over the top, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with bacon, jalapeño mixture and cheese.
  6. Place into oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  7. Serve immediately.

We don’t have a trader joes, sure wish we did! Any other suggestions on a brand of JAL /jack cheese? Thx can’t wait to try this

Any brand should work fine. If you can’t find jalapeno jack cheese, you can try substituting Monterey Jack.

OHMYGERSH. This looks incredible. Now I just have to figure out some cheese options for my hubby who is lactose intolerant…but WOW!

I’ve seen in a few grocery stores a jalapeño jack cheese but it’s a lactose free cheese. I can’t think of the brand now, obviously, but it’s got a little farm house on it.

Genius. Pure genius. I need this pizza in my life immediately. Tweeted and pinned 🙂

Made this tonight…..AWESOME! Husband asked for it to be “added into the rotation” which means a lot!

Made this a few weeks ago, pure genius. We are eating it again tomorrow! Can’t go wrong with pizza!

Awesome recipe! Went to Trader Joe’s for the first time today and found the Jalapeno Jack cheese. YUM! I also used their pizza dough and it turned out awesome. Thanks again for the great recipe!

Found your recipe a few weeks ago and finally got to try it. Don’t have a Trader Joe’s right in my area so just went to my local grocery store and got the Pillsbury Pizza Crust and Pepper Jack Cheese. Had Jalapeno’s from our garden and I tried bacon on one then made it again and didn’t have any bacon so I used our self butchered Hot Italian Sausage, what a substitution! I love cream cheese so I used a little extra of that and what a recipe! I truly think I could live off of this pizza. Because of the crust I used and as thin as I like it I had to alter the temp. setting and timing to 350 for 30 min. What an awesome recipe find, thank you so much, I absolutely love it!

This recipe is perfect; my pizza was OUTSTANDING. I followed the recipe to a T, and decided to add crumbled jimmy dean breakfast sausage (only because I it to the filling when I make jalapeño poppers). I never would have noticed this cheese at Trader Joe’s, and I’m so glad that you mentioned to try it. I’ve tried quite a few of your recipes over the last few weeks, and they’ve all been fabulous. Thanks for all that you do, you’ve definitely helped make my kitchen a happier place! 🙂

I made this last night after finding it on Pinterest. I made it sans bacon, mainly because I don’t like your average bacon, and two because I was out of the only bacon I do eat (turkey bacon).
Even without the added meat, I was in heaven. OMG. I’m not sure why this pizza has not been in my life since birth, but it is never leaving my side again.

I made this last night with my boyfriend and it was absolutely delicious. I was able to find the cheese at Trader Joe’s. We bought the organic pre-made pizza crust at Trader Joe’s along with apple-wood bacon (just a hint of added flavor). Definitely going to make this again, thank you so much!

Made this tonight and words cannot describe how good this was! And amazingly easy. Thanks so much for sharing!

You are so welcome!

Thank you for the recipe! I made a pretzel pizza dough for this and it was just a perfect fit along with jalapenos from the garden.

Wow – I love eclectic food combinations like this! Jalapeno poppers and pizza? Of course! I’m pinning this. It looks delicious!

This looks great and so does the pizza crust!! Can you also share your pizza dough recipe?

I actually just use Trader Joe’s pizza dough. 🙂

ingredients all prepped and gonna make it tonight! I may even warm up a little honey to drizzle on top after cooking for a little sweetness:)

Do you use Trader Joe’s white or wheat pizza dough?

You can use either!

That sounds so yummy! I have pizza on the menu this week too. I might have to make a run to the store for jalapenos. =D

Thanks, Chungha, for the great recipes!

Sorry, I think I misspelled your name, Chungha! It’s been a long day. But I will make the popper pizza tomorrow, for sure.

Do you still have the original recipe somewhere? Came on here to make it for dinner this weekend. Thanks!

What original recipe? The recipe has remained the same with updated images.

My pin didn’t show the Thai peppers but pictures and recipe now do so didn’t know if other things had changed. Thanks

The same thing with what I originally pinned a while ago. The blog had also talked about Trader Joe’s pepper jack cheese. This is different than what it used to be. I wonder if the original pin somehow linked to a different recipe. I’m not sure what happened. This recipe sounds good but it isn’t what I originally followed.

I cant locate a a Thai red chili pepper, what can I substitute for it?

You can omit or add an additional jalapeno pepper.

Should the jalapeños be seeded?

You can choose to seed them or not – it really depends on your tolerance for heat.

I’ve made this pizza several times now. It has become a family favorite. Thank you for sharing the recipe
