Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

An easy peasy pasta dish that’s simple, flavorful and incredibly hearty. And all you need is 20 min to whip this up!

With the cold weather upon us, it’s all about staying in with your sweatpants and cooking up some major comfort food. Although I should mention it’s pushing 80 degrees F out here in Southern California and I’m still walking around in shorts and flip flops.

Still, that’s not stopping me from indulging in the ultimate kind of comfort food and throwing a shrimp and pasta party with Eat Shrimp and Calphalon. And with the help of Calphalon’s Contemporary Nonstick 3.5 qt. Pour and Strain Sauce Pan and Stainless Steel Utensils Silicone Tipped Tongs, this dish will come together in just 20 minutes from start to finish.

All you have to do is boil up some pasta and saute your shrimp in a pool of garlic-butter-herb goodness. Once that’s ready, just toss in your pasta and some fresh greens. That’s it. It’s easy, quick, and comforting in any kind of weather!

Who could resist that garlic butter sauce? Gorgeous!

Looks so delicious! Love all those juicy shrimp 🙂

Hi! I’m living in Mexico where arugula is virtually non-existent. Can I use spinach or a local green called Chaya in place of it?

Spinach would be a great substitute!

I used locaccino kale

¡Esto se ve delicioso! A mi hijo le encantan los mariscos, ni bien consiga camarones se lo prepararé. Me encanta tu blog, Chungah. Lo he recomendado en mi página de facebook (Alamos ventosos), en mi nueva sección #RecomendadosDelSábado.
Lamento no poder escribir en inglés.
¡Buen fin de semana!

This shrimp has my name all over it! I’ll be spoon feeding myself this today!

This sounds heavenly! You’re right. Shrimp and pasta. What a combination! I can almost taste that garlic buttery goodness topping my fettuccine. Thanks for sharing another winner!

Pasta and shrimp – two of my favorite things! I’ve been following your blog for several months now (lurking, I guess). I love how accessible and doable your recipes are.

Love how you mentioned “lurking”. I thought I was the only one..lol great word for all this online blogging and commenting. Lurking is the pre-cursor.

Could the Arugula be left out or would you have to substitute for it? Anything else besides Spinach? Love your site, I’m new to it. Love that the recipes are easy to make & so tasty.

Kale would also work very well in this dish.

Do You think it would be good with Broccoli?, Cause I don’t like Arugala or Spinach.Well I like them but not in this recipe .I would make it the way I think sounds a lot better than the recipe here & My way I would I add Green,Orange,Yellow & Red Bell Peppers Juliened sliced in strips & Garlic in Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a sautee pan until tender & Then add the Shrimp with Butter Garlic Sauce. When that’s all done I’d put over Linguini Sounds good already & Making me hungary .I’ll have 2 Make it sometime this week when I have all the right ingredients 2 Make it. I have most of the ingredients .I have the Linguini ,Garlic Cloves ,Broccoli ,Shrimp ,Freshly Grounded Black Pepper ,Salt & Dried Oregano I’d rather use fresh Oregano & With all the different Bell Peppers would give it a very colorful dish.

Yes, broccoli and bell peppers sounds amazing!

Wow, you come to someone’s recipe to tell them it doesn’t sound good? Then proceed to give your version of it? How about create your own recipe so people can comment on it.

Totally agree with you Mike. Some people change so many things in a recipe that it’s a totally different dish. I think that this dish sounds super just the way Chungah posted it.

This looks mouth watering. Down south in Louisiana Spring has sprung, but I still want my comfort food. Hope Butters is on the mend. I love the little guys name.

Garlic, shrimp and pasta are such a perfect combination. You’ve nailed how to blend them all together.

This pasta looks amazing! My favorite combination ever is seafood and pasta, so I’m in heaven with this dish!

Perfect for busy weeknights! My family would love this!

Chungah, You’ve done it again in my house! This is oh so easy and delicious! Another favorite of mine.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I tried this recipe last week and it was absolutely fabulous.

i made this using broccoli because it was what I had .. …really good… Thanks

I made this and my family loved it..however I used bak choy and broccoli, that’s what I had still came out great..

Have made this dish twice and it is a favorite in our house with the hubs and me! Delicious! thanks for the recipe!

Your recipes are always so delicious! Thanks for sharing!

Great recipe. Have to try Homemade Garlic Bread with this recipe.

Tried this last night. Fantastic. Everyone loved it. Used spinach instead of arugula. Next time I will also decrease the amount of butter at the end from the 6 tablespoons to 4. A little too much but still very good. When ever I cook something new and the guys love it I am told “it’s a keeper”. As usual, a Damn Delicious recipe is “a keeper”.

I made this for dinner last night. . Absolutely fantastic. ..i did however add extra garlic and some fresh basil. .. it was a major hit. So easy and quick!

Made this last night for dinner. Absolutely incredible! So quick and easy. I did use the arugula and the flavor was amazing. I did, however, add 2 extra cloves of garlic and some fresh basil. It was a major hit! Highly recommend this one.

Just made this for my grandma and it was so good! Love the arugula addition. I also threw in some capers and lemon. Thanks!

I simply could not believe how fast and easy this recipe was to make… running short on time I knew my husband wanted shrimp for dinner… I ran across this recipe Perfect combination of ingredients an ‘Instant Hit’… Thank you❤️

I made this for dinner last night, it was absolutely great!

I made this for a MICHIGAN football game party. I threw in some carrots, mushrooms, red onion & a few snap peas for a bit of color. Never have to much garlic!! A winner!

Anazing recipe! I replaced the Arugula with broccoli! Fast and easy, highly recommend this!

Pasta and shrimps. These are my favorite of all time. I will show this recipe to my mom and let her cook for me.

Looks so delicious! Quick question – can you sub olive oil for some of the butter?

Hi- can cooked frozen shrimp be used?

Yes, absolutely, but I find that it is best to use raw shrimp so that you do not run the risk of overcooking the shrimp. But as always, please use your best judgment.

Love pasta but cutting down on carbs. Can I use zucchini noodles instead?

Great recipe! I used baby spinach and increased the garlic.

I am a huge damndelicious fan and have cooked many of your fab recipes, and the fam has LOVED every one! I’m sure this one will also become a family fave!! I mean, butter, garlic and shrimp … it doesn’t get much better! We will be enjoying this meal tonight. I don’t have any arugula, so will be subbing baby spinach, and I am fresh out of parm, so will be using cotija instead. It should be interesting.

Love. Added more garlic 7 cloves total. Might halve the red pepper for company but my husband and I liked the kick!

This is best shrimp and pasta dinner I have ever made!
I was a Flight Attendant for 32 years and traveled the world !
I have had the pleasure to eat in some of the finest restaurants around the world and this recipe would be featured in many of them !
But I made it in my home and it was the best!
You have to try it and make it with Brown wild Shrimp, that is from the Gulf of Mexico !
Try it and see for yourself !
Enjoy!

I normally don’t cook so this was the first real recipe I tried for my boyfriend and I. And let me tell you it was DELICIOUS! He was so impressed. Thanks so much!

Searched the Net for a pasta and shrimp with butter sauce recipe. Found this simple but wonderful recipe and am so glad I did!! Cooked this for dinner tonight. Soooo good!

I made this last week and it was WONDERFUL. I found the recipe to be easy to follow and it came together quickly. I thought the proportions of everything were spot on. I had a hard time finding arugula; I see several suggestions for kale and spinach as alternatives so I need to remember that. Seriously, this was so good. It beats any dish I’d have at a restaurant. Thank you!

Awesome recipe. But I was out of shrimp so I used Louis Kemp Crab Delights and also did not have any arugula or parsley so I used Edamame (soy beans) to give it some color. Very yummy.

Made this last night. OMG. Absolutely Wonderful. Thank you.

I made this for dinner on sunday ( I ate it all :-S) Then made another pot on Monday for my co-workers to try. I know they will love it just as much as I did. I had had a hard time finding arugula in the grocery stores here. One store employee told me to find arugula in the spice aisle **cough Walmart cough cough**

Luckily, I was able to find it at another store in the organic form.

Yummy and easy recepie. Thank you!

We found it in the prewashed salad area in plastic containers.

Thank you so much for this recipe. I tend to veer away from making any seafood pasta or any seafood in general, but this one was really easy and simple to follow. I ended up using spinach instead of arugula and I thought it was just as delicious! Thanks again for this wonderful recipe!

This sounds delicious! I want to make it for dinner tonight but I don’t have any Parmesan. Could I use shredded mozzarella instead? Also could I use mushrooms instead of the arugula?

This reciepe was to die for! I used all of the ingredients as required. I added an extra bit of a kick by adding more of the crushed red pepper, and extra minced garlic. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Throwing in some red and yellow peppers. because they rock and are on sale.

This might be a silly question, but I haven’t cooked with shrimp before- would you recommend leaving the tails on or take them off? Does it matter? Thanks!

You can leave them on or off – it’s up to you.

We are a culture that loves to acquire more and more. We like to shop for ourselves and we like to shop for others.

I made this tonight and we loved it! Thank you for an easy and delicious recipe!

what is the substitute for crushed red pepper flakes and dried oregano.

You can omit the red pepper flakes and substitute other herbs for the oregano. Hope that helps!

We used cayenne instead.

Kid you not- I didn’t have any shrimp or leafy green very ke and it was still delicious!

Found this recipe on pinterest and cooked as one of my dishes. My husband loved it. Had seconds and asked for it to be part of our weekly menu. Mind you he never liked pasta without tomato sauce before. I use kale instead of arugula. I’m not a big fan of cooking but thank you so much. I can’t mess this up.

This is an amazing recipe! By far my favorite for shrimp. Even made “shrimp believers” out of my folks when I had them for dinner!

Love this recipe! I made a double batch for a party and then made it again since everyone ate it up. Just be aware that the crushed red pepper can give it quite a bite. I loved it, but my son who does not like hot spice did not.

What about grilling the shrimp Cajun style to make it a little spicy then mixing it into the sauce? I am just thinking of ways to make this dish a little spicy!

That sounds amazing!

I made this recipe tonight and it was very tasty! There were some comments about substituting argula with other greens, such as spinach or kale. But honestly the argula gave the meal a distinct flavor. So good! Thanks!

We made it tonight, and it was… orgasmic.
Thank you very much for this recipe!

I made this last night for a family dinner party and it was a HUGE hit with everyone. Absolutely delicious and so easy to make. So glad to have come across this recipe, thanks!

I have made this on numerous occasions. My son wants to thank the genius chef who came up with this recipe. Absolutely delicious! Thank you from the both of us.

Found this recipe less than 2wks ago and have made it 3times! Its so easy and so delicious!

i just found your recipe. it’s looks easy i will try Sunday dinner. looking forward. thanks more great recipes.

I like a lot of sauce with my pasta. Could I add cream to this to get it saucy-er? What about a splash of wine?

Yes, absolutely. What a great idea!

I will be making this but will double the recipe because we have 5 people in the house. Would the dish still turn out fine if I used salted butter instead?

This was so delicious, I did modify and added few things. I grilled the shrimp for presentation look and added grilled sweet peppers and cherry tomatoes. With the noodles and garlic butter sauce I added fresh basil with the baby arugula. My wife loved this dish. Thank you!

I use spinach instead of arugula because I can’t always find it. Also, I add sautéed mushrooms because I love mushrooms. I sautée them in some butter, white wine, & garlic pepper.
Damn delicious.

Yum! I thought I’d add mushrooms next time!
